The first order data is the basic parameters of the lens design. They are from paraxial optics and enable us to compute some of the most basic properties of an optical system with a minimum of calculation. The paraxial treatment can provide the designer with insight into the performance of the system with a modest effort.

There are two methods to get the quick first order data.

First, click the menu

Second, type the "FIR" in the command Window.

The MF operands in the CAXCAD can also get these data, and the follow list is the mainly MFO for the first order optics.

They can be found in the optical definations list of the Automatic Design Tool

The user don't need to type them, they can be insert automaticly by clicking intert button.

We can also check data quickly in status bar.
